2nd International Multimedia Competition
for Pianists and Musical Experts
NOMINATIONS:
Musical experts. Conservatory and University students.
Musical experts. Post-graduate students and musical experts.
The goal for contestants in the «Musical Experts» nomination is to write an article about the «Heaven and Earth» multimedia project by composer Ivan Sokolov and artist Konstantin Sutyagin. (Musical component – «Evangelical Pictures» pianoforte series by Ivan Sokolov. Art component – a series of 70 paintings by Konstantin Sutyagin).
Articles about just the musical component of the project are permitted.
Participation in the competition is free of charge. No registration fees need to be paid by the participants.
Any musical expert from any country can take part in the competition.
The competition is based on a unique multimedia project by prominent Russian modern art figures – composer Ivan Sokolov and artist Konstantin Sutyagin.
Ivan Sokolov wrote a series of pianoforte pieces called «Evangelical Pictures,» which contains 31 preludes, a Recitative and an Epilogue. Konstantin Sutyagin created a series of 70 paintings under the same title. The two art forms come together in a combined multimedia project called «Heaven and Earth» available at zemlyainebo.ru

The contestants should complete their applications with attached works at the competition website by 10 January 2020. The results will be announced on 10 February 2020 on VKontakte and Facebook (links to the groups can be found at the end of the Regulations).
The project presentation will take place online between 10 February and 15 March 2020. The organizers will discuss the timing of the online session individually with each participant. The presentation results will determine the Laureate and Diploma winners. The results will be announced and awards given on 19 April 2020, at the Easter multimedia concert at the Moscow State Conservatory.
The competition is organized by the «Heaven and Earth» charity foundation
Specialization: «Musical Experts». Only original scientific works by the respective authors (no age restriction) that have not previously been published (including online) and have not been presented for consideration to Russian or foreign journals will be accepted for the competition. The works can represent one of the following genres:

The goal of the competition is to identify and promote talented musical experts and their academic advisors; promote the creative activities of students at musical educational institutions; share experiences and innovative ideas; and enrich Russia’s musical space with the best examples of modern music.
The article text and accompanying text materials must be sent in a single file. Sample musical scores and illustrations must be sent in individual *.jpeg or *.tiff files.
To ensure more complete evaluation of the works, it is recommended that you enclose audio, visual and musical score materials supporting the topic of the work. All works must be written and typeset to high professional standards.
Text volume
The texts must be free of spelling errors, typos and extra spaces.
All illustrations and tables must be embedded in the main text file, signed, numbered and additionally sent as individual files. Sample musical scores must be provided in .mus format; and illustrations in .tiff, .jpeg formats (at 600 dpi resolution).
The materials may be uploaded to cloud storage or other websites, with links included in the text.
The panel reserves the right to discard manuscripts that don’t meet these requirements.

The judges reserve the right to withhold the laureate titles if none of the participants scores enough points.
Educational institution departments that send the most participants demonstrating outstanding results will receive an honorary title «Department of high musical culture» for their contribution to the development of modern art.
One department will also win a special prize: a cordial dinner with composer Ivan Sokolov at the Metropol Restaurant in Moscow, and a representative from the department will enjoy a night out with the composer of «Evangelical Pictures.» The time and date of the cordial dinner will be separately agreed upon.
